Windows editor:
Text editing in the Windows editor has spell checking. The language supported is always the main one from the vendor (so the spell checking does not respect different languages).
For foreign languages: it is best to write them in a text processor like Word or OnlyOffice and then copy them to the editor.
In this case, you can disable spell checking, if that is what you wish.
Here is how to do it:
- Click the File menu in the top horizontal menu bar (or simply click the gear icon).
- Select Settings and navigate to the General tab.
- Look for the "Preferences" section.
- Uncheck the box next to Use spelling checker.
- Click OK to apply your changes.
Mac editor
The Mac Editor includes a spelling and grammar check feature too.
To access and modify or disable it:
Right-click on a word within the text edit window.
This opens a menu with various spelling and grammar options.
From here, you can choose whether to have unrecognised words highlighted as you type or change the settings to check the texts manually, which will disable the automatic highlighting.
Online editor
To use different accents/languages, write them in a text processor like Word or OnlyOffice and then copy them to the editor.
You can also download and install your own fonts to use in the editor (specifically .otf files), which often contain expanded design options like "special characters or swash glyphs with decorative flourishes.
