When starting your book—either on our website or in our software—you can choose between using our Smart Assistant for automatic creation or creating the book yourself.
Windows and Mac editors
1. Using the Smart assistant (Autofill)
There are a couple of steps you will need to follow to set up your book:
- Upload photos: Select and upload your photos (you must upload at least 24 images).
- Click Autofill or Continue with Smart Assistant button
- Choose number of pages and preferred layouts
The editor will automatically distribute your photos into page layouts throughout the book.
You can customise and edit your book anytime afterwards.
2. Hide or Filter Used Photos
- Click on the Photos tab (on the left hand side) where your uploaded images are listed.
- Locate the Filter dropdown or toggle icon (often represented by a filter funnel), which is at the bottom of the photo selection tab
- Select "All, used photos or unused” photos
This removes photos with green checkmarks/badges from view, showing only images that haven't been added to a page yet.
3. Move Photos Back from Book to Upload Tray
- Select the photo: Click directly on the photo on the book page that you wish to remove.
- This opens a small menu underneath
- Click on the three dots and select Delete
Return to tray: Deleting a photo from a page frame does not delete it from your project. It automatically un-links the image and leaves it safely available in your upload tray for re-use.
4. How do I select all photos at once?
When uploading your photos, you can drag the whole folder into the upload tray.
5. Why is the editor placing the same picture on every page?
If you have chosen a higher number of pages but not enough photos to fill your book, the smart assistant will recycle the photos you have uploaded. You can always add more photos from the editor.
Online editor
1. Using the Smart assistant (Autofill)
- Upload photos: Select and upload your photos (you must upload at least 24 images).
- Click Next button
- Follow the instructions in the editor (you will have an option to choose smart collection photos and white borders)
- Once you are happy with your selection, click Create book
The editor will automatically distribute your photos into page layouts throughout the book.
You can customise and edit your book anytime afterwards.
2. Hide used photos
Click on the small layouts icon. This will open up the following options for you:
- see photo in large
- see photos in small
- hide used photos
3. Move Photos Back from Book to Upload Tray
Adding photos into your book does not remove them from the upload tray. The photo will only be marked as used.
4. How do I select all photos at once?
When uploading photos from your account:
- Click on My photos
- You will see three choices underneath: Photos, Albums and Recent uploads
- Select "Albums"
- Click on the Album you want to upload your photos from
- Click on "All" and then "Next"
App
When creating a book in the App, you will need to make an initial selection of your images to start with. Later on you can edit your book to your liking.
Apart from Smart assistant, you can also choose from Theme books, which come with pre-set themed covers. You will be able to edit theme books as you wish.
