We are sorry that your photobook arrived with wavy pages. This is of course not the intention. The cause of the wavy pages is moisture uptake mainly due to changes in the climate. During the production of a photobook, we take measures to keep the climate in our factory stable. This can be caused by high humidity when it’s hot & humid or when it is cold & damp. Airconditioning may also have an effect. If the photobook is kept in the same location where the air humidity ranges between 40-60%, nothing should happen. Once your photobook is dispatched to you from our production warehouse via our local carriers if air humidity changes during the journey your photobook will need a recovery time.
How can you prevent this/what can you do?
- The photobook will need a little time to recover, to adjust to the new conditions, so be patient.
- Try to leave the photobook in a dry place. Have it laid open and create space between the pages. This will help all the pages absorb moisture equally from the atmospheric air.
- Make sure the air humidity is between 40-60%. If it is not, the photobook may not straighten out, and a replacement photobook will not correct the issue.
- Give the photobook some time, they particularly change in the spring and autumn. The damp times of the year. A photobook needs approximately 10 days to straighten itself.
Important Tips: Place your photobook in a warm room and leave it to rest. It should straighten out itself. Please do not move it around.
